The Business Unit Parts and Field Service is a global entity that operates with standardized processes and tools to deliver top-notch services to our customers. We are currently seeking a passionate Senior Tool Operator to join our skilled Workshop team. This role offers a permanent position and will be based in our Workshop in Gdansk, Poland.
What will you be doing?- Maintaining and operating the tool machine to meet specific time requirements for job completion.
- Utilizing portable machine tools.
- Assisting the workshop team in inspecting engine components when necessary.
- Completing assigned tasks from the Foreman/Team Leader.
- Ensuring high-quality work, proper documentation, and adherence to work procedures.
- Conducting continuous quality control and demonstrating strong planning and organizational skills.
- Preserving the quality and efficiency of mechanical work in line with manufacturers' specifications and ISO procedures.
- Adhering to good mechanical work practices to maintain the shop and tool machines.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through positive interactions and job performance.
- Complying with all Wärtsilä regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and Polish labor laws.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and utilizing appropriate safety equipment.
- Educational background in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5-8 years of experience as a machinist/tool operator, preferably in the marine industry.
- Proficiency in general machining of engine components and operation of machines like lathes and milling machines.
- Native proficiency in the Polish language.
- Basic understanding of English is advantageous.
- Openness to learning and receiving instruction.
- Willingness to travel up to 2-3 times per year for 1-2 weeks each time.
- Capability to work under pressure and flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts if required.
