IS Functional Analyst

Your role and responsibilities

Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business requirements and industry best practices.
Collaborate closely with master and processes data engineers to understand data needs and translate them into effective data models.
Utilize your proficiency in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Analysis Services, to architect and implement data solutions.
Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and maintainability, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage mechanisms.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data modeling, Azure services, and cloud data management.
Participate in data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with data quality, security, and privacy standards.
Document data models, processes, and methodologies to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure a clear understanding of the data landscape.
Provide guidance and support to business with regards to data model, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5 + years) as a Data Modeler or similar role, with a track record of designing and implementing effective data models.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Analysis Services. Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including entity-relationship diagrams, normalization, and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for data manipulation and transformation. Familiarity with data visualization tools and concepts (Power BI).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, and data security practices is desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, Power BI or data modeling are advantageous.
