Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly skilled and seasoned Product/Service Owner to take the lead in strategic planning, development, and management of our crucial Database Services. As a key member of our IT services team dedicated to supporting a public administration, you will have a significant role in ensuring the prime performance, security, and dependability of the database services, with a focus on Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL.

Responsibilities:

  • Platform Vision and Strategy:
    • Develop a clear vision for the Database Services in line with the overall IT strategy and objectives of the public administration.
    • Create and execute a strategic roadmap outlining enhancements, upgrades, and expansions for the database services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including database administrators, system architects, and IT managers, to understand their requirements and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Forge strong relationships with external stakeholders within the public administration to ensure the database services align with their evolving needs.
  • Database Service Development and Management:
    • Supervise the entire lifecycle of the database services, from design and implementation to optimization and maintenance.
    • Work in close coordination with database administrators and development teams to prioritize features, upgrades, and patches based on business value and impact.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the database services, proactively identifying and tackling performance bottlenecks.
    • Deploy optimization strategies to boost database efficiency, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Collaborate with security experts to ensure adherence to industry best practices and relevant regulations.
    • Implement and uphold robust security measures to protect sensitive data stored within the databases.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Maintain relationships with database vendors, ensuring timely updates, support, and alignment with the public administration's requirements.
    • Assess and suggest new technologies or tools that could enhance the database services.
  • Documentation and Training:
    • Develop and update thorough documentation for database services, including configuration guides, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Arrange and conduct training sessions to empower internal teams and stakeholders in effectively utilizing and managing the database services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) as a Product Owner or Service Owner overseeing database services, particularly with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL.
  • Thorough understanding of database architectures, technologies, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with public administration procedures and compliance requirements is advantageous.

Requirements:

  • Europen Union citizenship.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of other European languages is beneficial.
