Ryvu Therapeutics is a clinical-stage drug discovery and development company focused on novel small molecule therapies that address emerging targets in oncology.

This position involves planning and executing in vivo procedures on small rodents, ensuring their welfare, and handling related materials in the facility. Responsibilities include animal care, monitoring health, following veterinarian instructions, maintaining facility cleanliness, and equipment monitoring.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the planning and execution of in vivo procedures, on small rodents (mice, rats)
  • Monitor animal welfare and health (humane endpoints assessments)
  • Handle samples and animal materials; ensure the correct flow of materials in the animal facility according to current needs (packing andunpacking, storage, labelling and classification of materials, etc.)
  • Caring for laboratory animals, including, but not limited to, providing food and species-specific environmental enrichment, controlling access to water, changing cages, daily monitoring of animal welfare, noting indicated information
  • Following veterinarian instructions for animal treatment as needed
  • Maintain clean and dirty areas of the animal facility (husbandry rooms, laboratories, storages, wash room, etc.), maintaining consistent levels of resources and processing clean and dirty materials according to procedures;
  • Monitor the technical condition of equipment, following manufacturers' recommendations
  • Caring for laboratory animals, including, but not limited to, providing food and species-specific environmental enrichment, controlling access to water, changing cages, daily monitoring of animal welfare, noting indicated information
  • Following veterinarian instructions for animal treatment as needed
  • Prepare documentation related to the execution of in vivo experiments and animal husbandry operations (e.g., applications to LKE, responses to ethics committees, retrospective evaluations, SOPs, study reports);
  • Cross-train and provide absentee support for other facility staff if possible and necessary
  • Perform work in a timely manner and in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs), and follow other written and verbal instructions of supervisor
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor as needed
  • Contact with hazardous chemical agents, including carcinogens and mutagens, and biological agents classified in hazard group II
  • Optional: Contribute to the Animal Welfare Body
YOUR BACKGROUND
  • Education (including level and major): DVM/MSc in biological sciences, pharmacy, medicine or veterinary, agriculture or similar
  • Experienced and skills: At least 4 years of experience in the industry or at least 6 years of experience in the academia sector; At least 30 hours of documented in vivo courses not covered by basic education
  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in using StudyLog Software and modern technology stems dedicated SPF rodent Animal Facilities [e.g., Automated watering system, IVC –Up&Down System, DS One, VHP]
  • English Proficiency: Very good (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension)
  • Formal Certificates: Possess a certificate on: carrying out procedures on laboratory animals, killing laboratory animals, that is compliant with polish regulations
