EMEA Peripherals Contra Finance Analyst

Description -

The Finance Contra Analyst at HP is tasked to look at an end-to-end view of all contra revenue elements offered as backend rebates, emanating from the time they are accrued on the books till the point they are claimed by the channel partners. This role will be focused on the Peripherals Business in EMEA.

The Contra Analyst for the EMEA Peripherals vertical is expected to apply advanced knowledge to solve complex business issues. Key dimensions of the role include:

  • Be the one in the know on Back-end contra accounting, finance and programs.
  • Working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Engage on Audit requirements, both internal and external.
  • Acting as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
  • Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.
  • Support the EMEA CoE on Market analytics that drive precision on the final balances.
Responsibilities
  • Run Month-end Close and Quarter-end close for Back-end Contra Revenue for the Peripherals business in EMEA.
  • Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope.
  • Forecasts financial results within a broad scope, providing inputs into the flash process driven by Market Finance/Global Business unit stakeholders.
  • Leads business initiatives, typically leading analysts across multiple sub-functions within finance.
  • Establish driver-based cause and effect relationships that influence specific country Contra patterns.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and policy development and engages in the design.
  • Represents the business unit during cross-regional or cross- functional planning processes.
  • Provides mentoring and guidance to analysts.
  • Helps drive an analytical mindset and culture across the broader team, engaging on portfolios outside of Peripherals on a project basis.
Education & Experience Recommended
  • First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred.
  • Typically 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst.
  • Typically experienced in more than one finance function.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, with advanced knowledge in one area.
  • History of managing Executive level stakeholders is a big plus
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Superior teamwork skills
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good project management skills.
