In this position, you will join a matrix organization and become a key player in our Record to Report (RTR) team, responsible for General Ledger activities. Utilizing a combination of professional, practical, and analytical skills, you will significantly impact the organization of the RTR structure and optimize its processes.

The team will consist of approximately 30 local members. Additionally, you will maintain a close, partnership relationship with the outsourced operations in India (VELUX Finance Operations), taking a holistic view of the results and maintaining customer orientation (service excellence). You will ensure that accounting issues, from both group and local perspectives, are assessed, monitored, and resolved with relevant, efficient solutions.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end process and act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

Interim contract - ca. 18 months with possibility to stay in the organisation

Managing the RTR team (3 TLs and 20+ Specialists): Including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management

Overseeing operational reporting within the RTR scope

Year-end closing activities: Preparation, oversight, and support

Delivering workpapers and reconciliations: Timely and accurately, taking ownership of necessary corrections in other ledgers

Ensuring successful delivery of services related to VELUX In-house Bank (internal treasury)

Intercompany process ownership: Facilitating deliveries from VELUX Finance Operations with actions performed within the finance function

Delivering relevant accounting reports and analysis

Assisting with internal and external financial and compliance audits

Running operational metrics to monitor performance

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, process changes, and leading practices for efficient and effective processes

Implementing projects (e.g.: SAP 4 HANA, Service Now, etc.)

Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations

Escalating and resolving issues as appropriate

Providing assessments on the accounting treatment for complex transactions and participating in projects

Partnering with other teams, e.g., Global Process Owners, Procure To Pay, Order To Cash, Financial Compliance, Tax Team, Business Controllers, etc.

You can expect approximately 20 days of travel per year

Your qualifications

Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team, manage projects, and influence stakeholders

7+ years of relevant accounting experience in a BPO or shared service role, including running operations within a multinational company as a leader of leaders

ACCA/CIMA and other accounting qualifications are an asset.

In-depth knowledge and practical experience with operations and processes within the area of Record to Report

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Very good knowledge of SAP ERP and intermediate proficiency with the Office 365 suite

Positive attitude towards change and a proven track record of supporting operational excellence initiatives

Ability to navigate ambiguity with a constructive and positive approach

Ability to lead teams, take ownership, and deliver results across cultures and geographies

Excellent communication and networking skills to engage and influence multiple functions and stakeholders

Self-driven, proactive, and flexible
