Role description:

Assist the GBA Finance Director & GBA FP&A Director in providing finance support to the GBA Operations Team and Country/Business Area leadership in delivering Operational excellence. 

Global scope/location, the position can be filled in any location where Arcadis has a legal entity preferably required to be available during CET working hours. 

The GBA Finance Controller Operations (FC) reports directly to the GBA FP&A Director and will work closely with the GBA Operations Director and associated teams.

Role accountabilities:

Act as a business partner to support the GBA Officer, GBA Finance Director, and GBA Operations Director in decision-making:

Partner with the GBA Operations leadership and teams across all countries/divisions and provide insightful analysis of business performance to maximize operational results. Oversee and drive a continued focus on a) Cash and Working Capital, b) Billability, c) Project Performance (eg LMP reduction), and d) GEC usage, to exceed targets across the GBA. Support the country BA Controllers & PMs with the specifics of multi-country projects, eg VAT issues, direct time writing, and define proposals in this area to further simplify, standardize, and automate. Closely work with Growth Finance on the crossover from Pursuit to DtR. See where this process can be further strengthened. Ensure a high level of collaboration (inc sharing of best practices) and coordination is maintained with the other GBAs and Corporate Finance teams to ensure consistency in Arcadis processes, service delivery, and compliance. Provide support & guidance to the incoming team members from acquired businesses into the wider Arcadis Finance function. Actively work with the business to ensure value-adding insights and analysis are being provided to help drive performance improvements across all operational areas noted above. 

Interact with the global finance team:

Ensure appropriate implementation and application of group processes. Ensure standardization within the GBA across all countries avoiding customization of systems and processes. Request support and validation from finance group experts as needed (tax, treasury, accounting, etc.). Support the GBA Operations Director and associated teams within the countries to drive operational excellence and maximize project results. Together with the other GBA FP&A Leads, GBA Growd leads, GBA FDs, the Finance Transformation Director, the Group Controller, and the Global Accounting Officer, support the CFO in designing and implementing a successful Finance organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

The candidate should have a relevant bachelor's or master's degree and experience as a senior finance leader with broad experience in finance management and reporting in a global setting. 

Further, the candidate should have proven experience as a strong business partner with an excellent understanding of client needs combined with a thorough knowledge of project business and driving finance transformation and/or operational excellence processes (including leading, motivating, and developing remote finance teams).
