Responsibilities:
- Execute the Business Unit strategy in full alignment with the agreed strategy to grow profitable market share.
- Lead the vendor pricing strategy through collaboration with profit team to review price elasticity and handle exception management.
- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to provide market reports and analysis, and using this data to identify trends to make sound business proposals.
- Support development of direct reports and/or development of divisional assistant category managers (ACM's).
- Ownership for full product and vendor lifecycle management, including system accuracy, product adoption & creation and contract management.
- Hold operational & commercial relationship with vendor key stakeholders.
- Identification of commercial & operational process improvements.
- Ensure ongoing use of CRM tools to ensure best in class business continuity.
- Input into quarterly vendor business planning and execution.
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Highly numerate.
- Commercial acumen.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Good relationship skills.
- Experience in the IT industry with channel and/or vendor at a category management level, ideally from a finance, purchasing or product marketing background.
- Experience of SAP R3 and business warehouse.
- Strong Microsoft office skills.
- Experience of working within a matrix structure.
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Business planning experience with strong operational cadence.
