Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in procurement, with experience in managing categories and developing strategies to ensure high-quality services and competitive positioning.

  • Manages one or two categories/commodities.
  • Complex sourcing and category management role in GSK.
  • Key role in strategy development.
  • Develops strategy for the procurement of categories within the broader FSP group of categories, designed to ensure high quality of services and ensure GSK's competitive position.
  • Collaborates within team and key stakeholders to deploy strategies globally/regionally, facilitated by robust implementation and transition plans.
  • Generates value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost; contributes significantly to organization's goals and objectives.
  • Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance; manages/monitors ongoing negotiations with 3rd parties.
  • Champions the sourcing group management process and policies across functions and links these to GSK's strategic direction.
  • Knows and utilises business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Implements and supports procurement strategies to maximise supplier leverage.
  • University Degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Science.
  • Relevant experience in procurement.
  • Significant external supplier knowledge through previous experience or market research in-role.
  • Proven negotiations and contract management skills.
  • Leadership/communication skills.
  • Market knowledge of supplier capabilities (current and future) is required to acquire and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Contracting experience required, including a thorough understanding of contracting fundamentals and experience with contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance.
  • Experience delivering quality, compliant, timely, well-specified agreements to generate a clear return on investment for GSK.
  • English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus.
  • May work across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness.
