Job Description

Payroll Specialist

  • Execute payroll operations in compliance with established procedures and customer requirements, ensuring the highest quality of service.
  • Process payroll data in accordance with legal, IBM, and customer requirements related to personal data protection, guaranteeing accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure timely payroll processing by executing activities such as sending inputs to payroll services providers, approving payrolls, and requesting uploads and payments releases.
  • Coordinate the execution of payroll cycle or year-end projects for assigned countries, managing tasks, and monitoring deadlines.
  • Validate payroll inputs, reconcile output files, and handle any discovered errors/discrepancies, ensuring seamless payroll processing.
  • Communicate risks to payroll process or deadlines in accordance with escalation paths, fostering effective collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Interact with employees, clients, payroll stakeholders, or third-party providers to process payroll data and ensure correct and timely payment.
  • Support year-end processes or country-specific tasks not related to monthly payroll cycles, adapting to changing requirements.
  • Initiate and actively participate in continuous improvement activities, enhancing processes, and tools using change management channels.
  • Request DTP updates as needed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Act as Ops Lead for assigned projects related to countries or minor/medium changes in the process, overseeing activities and tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of processes and country-specific information by attending courses, utilizing documentation, and engaging in ongoing training.
  • Provide backup support for team members and/or additional functions assigned by supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Function as a trainer for assigned courses, workshops, or recurring training sessions, sharing expertise and best practices.
