Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operative Buyer Area Europe to join our team at Doka Polska Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw, Poland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day business operations to meet customer order deadlines, quality standards, and cost optimization.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including inquiries, disposition, call-offs, purchase orders, deadline tracking, and complaint handling.
  • Implement and enforce purchasing strategies, adhering to specified purchasing conditions.
  • Coordinate logistics topics, including shipment management, freight forwarder coordination, and compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and freight carriers, monitoring performance for reliable and cost-effective logistics solutions.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations and documentation requirements by collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to streamline import processes and reduce lead times.
  • Participate in system functionality testing as needed.
  • Provide guidance to team members and mentor junior staff.
  • Assist procurement and business senior management with statistical, general, and financial information, as well as regular status reports and metrics on procurement-related activities.
  • Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, fostering partnerships and teamwork.
  • Support KPIs for areas of responsibility and ensure the delivery of high-quality procurement operations services aligned with business needs.
Requirements
  • Completed commercial or technical education.
  • Several years (minimum 2 years) of relevant professional experience in purchasing, with SAP Purchasing functions being an advantage.
  • Experience in managing freight carriers and coordinating shipments.
  • Forward-thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and creative skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Self-motivated individual with attention to detail.
  • Hands-on mentality and good communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate with people from various backgrounds and hierarchies.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills in English and German, with further foreign language skills being an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, mainly within Europe.
