EMEA Payroll Operations Manager

At Iron Mountain, we believe that work can have a positive impact on our customers, employees, and the planet. We're seeking a skilled Payroll Team Lead to oversee payroll processing for several countries in EMEA, collaborate with payroll vendors, and direct team members supporting these countries.
Main Responsibilities- Timely and Accurate Data Submission: Ensure timely and accurate data submission to payroll vendors, following the agreed process and timeline.
- Payroll Calendar Planning: Plan and assign activities according to payroll calendars, ensuring proper resource utilization.
- Case Volume Monitoring: Monitor case volumes and other case-related metrics and SLAs for the Iron Mountain team and vendors.
- Customer Satisfaction: Drive high customer satisfaction.
- Process Excellence: Constantly review existing processes and procedures, identify gaps and improvements, and make recommendations for changes.
- Payroll Controls: Ensure payroll controls are in place, up-to-date, and followed by the team.
- Process Documentation: Ensure all processes are documented and reviewed regularly.
- UK Payroll Focus: Closely supervise activities related to UK payroll processing.
- Team Management: Manage day-to-day activities for a subset of the team, including monitoring workflows, team assignments, and processing deadlines.
- Backup Structure: Organize work to ensure a proper backup structure and plans are in place.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance against goals.
- Team Feedback: Provide timely feedback to team members and take corrective steps as needed.
- Escalation Point: Serve as the first point of escalation for payroll-related issues for supported countries.
- Vendor Management: Manage employee, business, and vendor escalations for supported markets.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll, finance, or HR operations with cross-country exposure.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll.
- 1-2 years of experience in leading teams and/or projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in payroll operations (in-house or vendor-side).
- Strong background in working with HRIS, preferably Workday, as well as case management tools, ideally ServiceNow.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with key stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision-making.
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, proactive root cause analysis, customer interfacing, conflict resolution skills, and continuous improvement mindset.
