We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at LAN IT 24 GmbH. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and administering our data protection and recovery solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data protection and recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
  • Manage a team of IT professionals responsible for implementing and operating backup infrastructure, datacenter administration, and backup servers
  • Ensure the reliability, recoverability, and optimum performance of client dedicated environments
  • Act as a technical leader for complex projects, advocating for solutions across organizational boundaries
  • Provide thought leadership on data protection and recovery, handling customer calls and management calls
  • Participate in customer review meetings, infrastructure review meetings, and team meetings
  • Conduct daily reviews of backup activity monitors to identify unsuccessful backup jobs, troubleshoot, and resolve problems associated with backup jobs

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in IBM Storage Protect, Data Protection, and Business Continuity Plan (preferably as an administrator)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in managing a team of 7-8 members
  • Strong knowledge of high-availability implementations in large-scale environments
  • Technical expertise in backup/restore processes
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in infrastructure forecasting and capacity planning to streamline data protection needs
  • Expertise in backup planning and restoration for databases Oracle (RMAN), SAP, and variations, DB2
  • Expertise in library management, configuration, and administration of robotic devices like IBM TS Libraries
  • Intermediate-level understanding and experience with SAN switches and storage administration
  • Hands-on experience with SAN switches (zoning, configuration, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in SAN environments like IBM, Huawei, or NetApp
  • Deep knowledge in backup/restore toolset (IBM Spectrum Protect)
  • Deep knowledge in basic IT infrastructure
  • Service Orientation/ITIL certification
  • English fluency is mandatory
