As a 2nd Level Application Support Engineer at PAYBACK, you will be part of an international team working closely with development colleagues to ensure the availability of our applications for Italy, Austria, and Poland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd Level Application Support in a DevOps model, working closely with development teams to resolve issues and improve application availability.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze performance issues and incidents, and work to resolve them within agreed-upon RTOs.
  • Monitor application performance using DevOps tools, and implement continuous improvements to ensure high availability.
  • Configure monitoring tools, write scripts to automate redundant tasks, and review logs to investigate failures.
  • Raise defects and proactively work on resolution when issues are identified.
  • Escalate unexpected behavior to the implementers' team.
  • Collaborate with external service providers and partners to ensure consistent service delivery across the platform.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Support Engineer, with a focus on monitoring, incident, problem, and change management procedures following ITIL processes.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of ELK, Grafana, or Icinga an advantage.
  • End-user knowledge of Linux operating systems, including shell or Python scripting.
  • SQL knowledge, with PL/SQL knowledge an advantage.
  • Experience with operation of Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, Oracle, OpenShift, or GCP an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of flat file and XML-based batch processing.
  • Working knowledge of common communication protocols (e.g., SFTP, SSH, HTTP, etc.).
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly with Business Partners, Leadership, and non-technical end-users.
