Job Title: Lead Data Analyst Innovations

The Verisk ISO unit is seeking an experienced Pricing Data Analyst Team Lead to support our large team of actuaries and data analytics professionals in creating innovative analytic products based on our vast database of over 21 billion records spanning twenty lines of insurance.

About the Role:

  • Grow, lead, and motivate a team of analysts by providing feedback and developing their skills.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to your team and business decision-makers.
  • Create an innovation culture by promoting experimentation, designing best practices, and overseeing implementation.
  • Organize work to leverage team talents and ensure balanced workloads.
  • Help staff define their roles and understand how they contribute to the team and organizational strategy.
  • Understand and take ownership of business processes, recommending improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, process automation, or analytic techniques.
  • Develop computer programs to extract, transform, and summarize data for analysis and reports.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to set team goals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in analysis and/or data management. Actuarial/insurance/risk management experience is not required but will be beneficial.
  • Practical SQL knowledge is essential. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred, R, SAS, or others) is also necessary.
  • Experience mentoring junior colleagues and managing large datasets (> 100,000 rows).
  • Technical aptitude with strong logical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent organization and time management skills are also crucial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $120,000 and $180,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
