Now entering its third year, Morada Comum has built strong foundations and is ready for its next phase—expanding its reach, influence, and impact. Poised to become the leading voice of conservative environmentalism in Brazil, the organization is uniquely positioned to connect communities, civic leaders, and partners around a shared vision for protecting Brazil's natural heritage while upholding prosperity and the common good.

We are seeking a
dynamic and strategic Executive Director
to lead this next stage of growth. Reporting to OCH's Global Management Team, you will guide Morada Comum's national strategy, oversee a senior team of seven, and cultivate strong relationships with civic organizations, government, and community partners.

This is a role for a leader who can combine strategic vision with operational excellence—defining long-term priorities while ensuring their effective delivery through a capable, motivated team. You will oversee budgets, assess program impact, and make the necessary decisions to ensure accountability and effectiveness. The position will suit someone who enjoys building organizations, coaching senior staff, and achieving results through collaboration and partnership.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
  Define and manage the long-term direction of Morada Comum in Brazil, ensuring alignment with OCH's mission and responsiveness to local community needs.
• Team Management:
  Lead and develop a team of senior staff, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a mission-driven, high-performance culture.
• Partnerships & Advocacy:
  Build and maintain strong relationships with civic organizations, community leaders, media, and government partners to enhance visibility and influence.
• Fundraising & Resource Development:
  Lead strategies to secure financial sustainability through donors and partners; approve major proposals and funding initiatives.
• Program Oversight:
  Ensure the effective delivery of programs and initiatives, monitoring outcomes and supporting continuous improvement.
• Financial Stewardship:
  Oversee organizational budgets, ensuring responsible allocation and transparent management of resources.

Desired Profile

You are an experienced leader who has shaped strategy, guided senior teams, and delivered results through partnership and collaboration. You may have led or helped build a civic association, think tank, policy institute, community initiative, or political campaign.

Typical backgrounds might include:

• Executive Director or Director of Programs/Public Policy in a national organization
• Chief of Staff, Senior Advisor, or Head of Strategy, Partnerships, or Institutional Development
• Campaign or Civic Initiative Director driving engagement and consensus-building
• Community or Network Director strengthening participation and cooperation

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strategic and political acumen to navigate complex stakeholder environments
• Proven fundraising and resource development experience
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, engaging diverse audiences with clarity and purpose
• Effective leadership and delegation—able to empower senior staff while maintaining oversight of organizational impact
• Confident financial management and budget oversight
• Fluency in Portuguese and good English
