Period of employment and remuneration: with the possibility of extension by 36 months, remuneration: approx. 587 PLN/month and a monthly allowance of approx. 1617 PLN gross (total approx. 2204 PLN/month gross).

Position Description: The Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is looking for a candidate for the position of research assistant in the project entitled: "Unlocking Efficient Bio-Based Fertilisers For Soil Sustainability From Underutilised Side Streams"

Skills/Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Participation in optimization of dairy waste hydrolysis by chemical and enzymatic methods
• Application of the RSM method to optimize the process
• Development of fertilizer formulations based on bio-waste
• Statistical analysis of results in Statistica software
• Evaluation of biological effectiveness of fertilizers in pan, vase and field tests
• Preparation of samples for elemental composition analysis by instrumental methods
• Preparation of scientific articles and patent applications
• Participation in scientific conferences
• Preparation of a doctoral dissertation.

• Engineering degree or master's degree in chemical engineering or biotechnology
• Experience working in a chemical laboratory
• Prerequisite experience in a PCA-accredited laboratory, having within the scope of accreditation the analysis of elemental composition of plant biomass, soil, substrates, sludge, wastewater and fertilizers by instrumental analysis methods
• Experience in the use of calculation programs
• Experience in formulation work of waste-based fertilizers
• Oral and written knowledge of Polish and English

*If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector's consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

Applications of persons sending their documents without indicating a specific reference number and sent after the deadline for submission will not be considered. The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 1.00 pm on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Candidates' applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.
