Key Responsibilities:- Expand opportunities with existing customers and source new customer accounts through direct sales to meet revenue goals and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to expand our service offer towards existing and new customers.
- Identify and manage customer transportation needs and provide coverage with brokerage to third-party carriers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, carriers, and drivers to meet transportation coverage needs and reach revenue goals.
- Use discretion in the solicitation and acceptance of freight from customers and select carriers/drivers for freight coverage needs to maximize profitability.
- Provide oversight and guidance to carriers and drivers in the fulfillment of customer freight coverage needs, including freight securement and permit requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely capture of revenue and margin data for reporting/invoicing purposes and maximize utilization of systems for efficient workflow.
- Monitor carrier and drivers' performance, record and report any non-compliance, late deliveries, and provide performance feedback to clients and management.
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation and Logistics, Business Management, or related fields.
- Previous experience in sales and freight forwarding within the transportation industry and logistics industry is required.
- Experience in freight forwarding chemicals and dangerous goods is also necessary.
- Commercial negotiation skills, personal accountability, and knowledgeable attitude are essential for success in this role.
