About the Role

The Director of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability will be responsible for developing and implementing effective management systems to ensure a high level of environmental health and safety protection across multiple manufacturing sites in the EMEA region.

This role will focus on instilling a corporate culture that incorporates good environmental health and safety practices within normal business activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company requirements, as well as promoting integration of environmental sustainability into Operations functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide oversight for EHS Policy and Corporate EHS Management System procedures.
  • Advise management and collaborate with site EHS staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company EHS requirements.
  • Evaluate significant accident and hazard investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain an effective internal EHS audit program.
  • Monitor delivery of effective EHS-related training for all sites and facilitate development of corporate training programs as appropriate.
  • Support the legal department with risk control and processing activities.
  • Provide guidance regarding major facility renovations and process modifications to ensure that EHS issues are addressed.
  • Establish requirements for necessary EHS-related documentation and coordinate the collection and distribution of EHS metric data to drive performance improvement.
  • Promote EHS programs through internal publications and encourage consideration of EHS impact during decision-making processes.
  • Develop and promote environmental sustainability strategy.
  • Maintain the EHS section of the company's external internet web page and coordinate responses to external queries about the EHS Management System.
  • Coordinate EHS due diligence for potential acquisitions and divestitures and manage EHS integration of acquisitions in a timely manner.
