About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy Poland Sp. Z o.o. in Krakow. As a key member of our R&D organization, you will contribute to the development of innovative technologies for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full lifecycle of hardware platform development for HVDC Control & Protection systems, from idea to release and sustaining production.
  • Design and develop robust digital electronics, high-speed circuits, and optoelectronics for HVDC systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and implement hardware platforms based on initial requirements.
  • Work with simulations, parts selection, schematics, and layout to ensure efficient and reliable system design.
  • Prepare and manage technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Participate in technical reviews and project planning to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • At least 2 years' professional experience in analog circuit board design, digital electronics, and high-speed circuit design.
  • Practical knowledge of hardware electronics design process and tools, such as Altium, PADS, and Zuken CADSTAR.
  • Experience with laboratory test and measurement equipment and circuit boards testing, reworking.
  • Circuit simulation skills using SPICE and other tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a high level of self-motivation and desire to learn about new technologies.
  • English language proficiency at least Intermediate / B2 / Technical communication level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAFe (Agile) work practices and dedication to follow all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
  • Knowledge of high-speed electronics circuits and interfaces, including FPGA, CPUs, Memories, and Backplanes.
  • Experience with PCB layout design and PCBA manufacturing.
  • Experience with Power Electronics, gate drivers, and power supplies.
  • Experience with fiber optics communication and EMC, Signal Integrity, and Power Integrity.
  • Experience in FPGA design or Embedded programming.
  • Experience in component and device reliability, DFMEA.
