About the Role

The Finance Team Leader - AP & Expenses position at DLA Piper is a key role that requires a strong leader to manage the team's performance on a daily operational and tactical basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with agreed processes and applicable policies and procedures, managing escalation processes, and reporting and managing metrics to assess the team's performance and provided services according to service level agreements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the team's performance on a daily operational and tactical basis
  • Ensure compliance with agreed processes and applicable policies and procedures
  • Manage escalation processes
  • Report and manage metrics to assess the team's performance and provided services according to service level agreements
  • Support the GSC Management in understanding customers' needs and support the implementation of new solutions
  • Support Transitions, Continuous Improvement, and Technology teams on identifying business requirements for new solutions and services
  • Provide required analysis of process performance and support the identification of additional analysis perspectives to support Manager's decisions
  • Identify and implement improvements in process and work organization, including active participation in technology implementations
  • People management, including recruitment, integration of new staff to teams, facilitating technical/functional training or leveraging other training resources, measuring individual and team performance, providing feedback, counselling, and coaching as needed, confronting employee issues, managing corrective action process, supporting Manager on annual salary planning process for the Team
  • Manage the implementation of new technologies

About You

  • Very good English skills required
  • Very good people management skills and ability to work in an international, diversified professional environment
  • Master's degree preferable in accounting or related courses
  • Thorough understanding of finance processes and respective control framework
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with customers (customer focus, stakeholder, and expectations management skills)
  • Problem-solving, priority setting, planning, delegation, directing others, managing, and evaluating work capabilities
