Senior R&D Hardware Development Engineer

At ABB Business Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior R&D Hardware Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing analog and digital circuits from concept phase to serial production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing analog and digital circuits for existing and new product developments
  • Creating schematics and defining constraints for PCB layout, as well as defining verification specifications and executing verification activities through simulation and prototype testing
  • Collaborating with system architects and software developers to break down system requirements into hardware requirement specifications
  • Monitoring technology developments and product technologies to identify technical drivers for R&D projects, supported by a thorough understanding of key business drivers for ABB's products and solutions
  • Participating in internal and external networks to expand knowledge of the area of expertise
  • Taking responsibility for hardware development activities, including risk identification, alignment with targets, and close coordination with suppliers and other functions

Requirements include:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field
  • 5 years of work experience with control HW designer for both High power and Low Power circuits
  • At least 2 years of experience in development of electronics within embedded systems as a Hardware Design Engineer
  • Familiarity with tools: Altium Designer, PSpice, Matlab
  • Sound knowledge in designing electronic circuits, circuit diagrams, and simulation tools
  • Knowledge in EMC compatible design
  • Fluency in English; German language skills (B2) are beneficial but not a prerequisite
