Job Purpose:

As a Category Manager, you will collaborate with business functions to deliver best-in-class systems, tools, and processes, ensuring commercial and operational ownership and financial data integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Business Unit strategy to grow profitable market share.
  • Lead vendor pricing strategy through collaboration with the profit team.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to provide market reports and analysis.
  • Support development of direct reports and/or divisional assistant category managers.
  • Own full product and vendor lifecycle management, including system accuracy and contract management.
  • Hold operational and commercial relationships with vendor key stakeholders.
  • Identify commercial and operational process improvements.
  • Ensure ongoing use of CRM tools for business continuity.
  • Input into quarterly vendor business planning and execution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Highly numerate and commercially astute.
  • Strong communication, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent analytical and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in the IT industry with channel and/or vendor at a category management level.
  • Experience with SAP R3 and business warehouse.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience working within a matrix structure.
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business planning experience with strong operational cadence.
