Job Overview

The International Business Development Director is responsible for driving the global growth strategy of the company specialized in commodity trading of raw materials.

This senior leadership role involves identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and leading the expansion into international markets.

The role requires a deep understanding of global business environments, market dynamics, and cultural nuances, along with the ability to manage complex projects across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive international business development strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new commodities trading market opportunities, including emerging markets, to drive sustainable growth.
  • Conduct market research in the area of raw materials and analysis to understand global trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local partners, distributors of raw materials.
  • Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships, and alliances that support market entry and expansion.
  • Lead the planning and execution of commodities market entry strategies, including localization, regulatory compliance, and go-to-market plans.
  • Oversee the establishment of international operations, including setting up local offices and recruiting regional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, logistics, legal, finance) to ensure successful market launches and growth initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the international business development budget, ensuring cost-effective execution of global initiatives.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing global business activities.
  • Build and lead a high-performing international business development team.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture within the global business development function.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with international operations, including legal, financial, and reputational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant international laws and regulations.
